Director of Learning and Development

As the Director of Learning and Development, you will be reporting to the VP of Talent, Leadership, and Organizational Development. You will be part of a talented team of professionals, in a Centre of Excellence (CoE), who partner across the business and within the People function to co- lead, develop, and deliver on strategic initiatives. You will be responsible for consulting with internal clients on their training needs, instructional design, eLearning, and curriculum development, developing high quality learning tools and practical resources, managing LCMS end-to-end, ensuring continuous updates and rollout of mandatory training requirements, and mapping appropriate learning paths and delivery channels for development at scale. You will be facilitating successful results outcomes through strong stakeholder management, prioritizing tasks, and swiftly adapting to shifting priorities, demands, and deadlines to meet our organization’s hypergrowth and development needs.

Your responsibilities include:
Learning Strategy
Balancing interim learning solutions that are immediate with longer-term optimization efforts in building aspirational states that meet organizational strategy and business plans.
Ensuring seamless alignment between the development of enterprise-wide learning solutions and our long-term people strategy, integrating these efforts consistently across the talent and employee lifecycle.
Providing recommendations based on dashboards/feedback from LCMS, for continuous improvement to enhance employee experience and optimize efficiency of our platform and effectiveness of our assets.
Envisioning and codeveloping learning journeys-paths for all major job family categories in the organization, in strong partnership with our corporate and field people partners/HR.
Supporting and leading in change management strategies to ensure successful adoption of learning, training, and development efforts across our talent lifecycle and programs.
Addressing the diverse learning needs of various audience groups, demographics, and channels to ensure accessibility, equity, sustainability, and effective utilization of solutions within the Canadian dental healthcare landscape.
Learning Solutions: Design and Delivery with Key Stakeholders
Consult and conduct thorough opportunity-gap or needs assessments on all L&D training requests, by applying organizational and learning design thinking to ensure successful outcomes, impacts, and results for clients.
Design and develop interactive and dynamic eLearning solutions, training tools and resources with client groups.
Lead and support the development of learning paths, integration and process improvements, via LCMS and HRIS platforms, for enterprise-wide Onboarding Programs and experiences across the employee lifecycle for Support Centre/Practice roles (including, PMs, New Managers, Associates, New Hires, etc).
Work with SMEs and focus groups to define storyboard content and scripting to create meaningful content easily understood by the target audience.
Partner with the clinical continuing education programs’ leaders to ensure end-to-end successful registrations, programmatic design, and experience for our dentists and hygienists on continuing education (CE) on LCMS.
Partner with leadership and organizational development and HR leaders to amalgamate current learning assets and skills training into organizational capabilities for development pathways.
Partner with key stakeholders (ie compliance, HR, IT) to ensure mandatory training content will meet audit requirements.
Work with our corporate communications team to ensure translations and access to training materials in both official languages (English and French) for our Quebec legislative requirements and stakeholders.
Build and maintain trusting relationships across a matrix business model by continuously adding value in learning solutions to our key stakeholders.
Manage and oversee learning solutions, curriculum, updates or revisions, and programs on the learning/content management system (LCMS) for key stakeholders.
Oversee and project manage third party supplier course builds as necessary
Learning Systems Management and Reporting
Oversee learning content management system (LCMS), including mandatory online compliance trainings for managers and employees; acts as a lead point of contact for all inquiries and feedback related to the current platform and trainings.
Ensures the accuracy, effectiveness, reporting, system configurations and integrations of the LCMS with other systems (HRIS).
Partner with relevant departments to implement and integrate LCMS upgrades and enhancements, whilst considering the configuration, workflows and integration across other systems (HRIS, IT).
Drive the development and utilization of Learning Insights via LCMS, leveraging data analytics to inform strategic organizational learning and people strategy decisions.
Implement and monitor data security measures to protect the integrity of personnel data.
Report on learning data, engagement, and usage for senior leaders to monitor their respective areas and teams, upon the delivery of learning assets.
What we're looking for
Minimum of 6 years' experience in a lead role for enterprise-wide learning and development solutions.
Minimum of 10 years combined experience in instructional design for eLearning, managing learning systems, leading training and development program management, human capital consulting, design thinking, user/learner experience, organizational learning strategy, human resources, talent management, business partner, and/or organizational development.
Relevant university degree or college diploma.
Advanced level application of Articulate (or other eLearning software).
Advanced level application and management of LCMS platforms (learning systems’ catalogues, course design, pathways, reporting, configurations, integrations).
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Exceptional project management skills.
Exceptional stakeholder management skills.
Passion for client service and learner experience impact.
Ability to collaborate and work across diverse range of teams, stakeholders, and clients.
Ability to problem solve, generate new ideas, create insights, and think creatively.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and results-driven environment whilst navigating and managing through ambiguity in the development of solutions and strategies.
Outstanding professional, personable, and diplomatic service delivery and facilitation skills with an enthusiasm to inspire learning solutions and applications for the workforce.
Detail-oriented, highly organized, reliable, self-motivated, and balanced values on being results and relationship oriented.
Bilingualism in French and English is a strong asset.
Travel may be required up to 10%.
