Financial Analyst, Dentist Compensation and Accounts Receivable

Reporting into the Finance Manager, this position is based out of our Toronto Support Centre Mondays to Thursdays and Fridays are work from home. As a Financial Analyst specializing in Doctor Draw Calculation and Accounts Receivable, you will play a vital role in our organization's financial management. This position involves analyzing financial data, evaluating doctor compensation, and managing accounts receivable processes. The Financial Analyst collaborates with various stakeholders, including doctors, finance teams, and practice managers, to ensure accurate compensation calculations and efficient revenue management.
In this role, you will
Oversee Doctor (Dentists and Specialists) Draw Calculation:
- Collaborate with HR, Legal and Talent to ensure correct rates are entered in the commission engine.
- Analyze financial and operational data to calculate doctor compensation accurately, considering productivity, revenue generation, and contractual agreements.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of data used in draw calculations and address any discrepancies.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges related to doctor compensation and draw calculations.
- Communicate draw calculations to doctors, addressing any questions or concerns.
Manage Accounts Receivable:
- Manage the accounts receivable function, including preparation of AR aging report in collaboration with the practices
- Monitor accounts receivable aging, identify and address payment issues, and optimize collection procedures.
- Analyze accounts receivable data and generate reports to assess cash flow, collection performance, and outstanding balances.
- Perform detailed accounts receivable analysis based on organizations policy.
Oversee Partner Variable Compensation:
- Ensure compliance with partnership agreements.
- Collaborate with legal and acquisition departments and regularly maintain compensation engine.
- Prepare monthly variable compensation entry based on partner agreement.
- Address partner inquiries, concerns, or disputes related to variable compensation calculations, providing explanations and resolutions as necessary.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, acquisition, HR, IT, and practices, to streamline processes, resolve issues, and improve overall financial performance.
- Work closely with partners, finance teams, and HR to ensure accurate and timely compensation calculations and resolve any compensation-related queries.
Perform Financial Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze financial data, including revenue, expenses, and profitability, related to doctor compensation and accounts receivable.
- Prepare financial reports and presentations to communicate trends, variances, and performance indicators to executive leadership and stakeholders.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to draw calculations and accounts receivable.
- Identify areas for process improvement, cost optimization, and revenue enhancement based on financial analysis.
- Assist with both external and internal audits on a quarterly and annual basis.
- Process monthly and ad hoc journal entries.
What we’re looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- Proven experience as a Financial Analyst (2+ years).
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.
- Proficiency in financial systems and tools, including ERP systems and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in a professional manner
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
